Climate change, climate variability, and early warning systems in the Pacific

Join Scott Power in this presentation where he will describe the characteristics, causes, predictability and prospects of naturally occurring decadal climate variability and the impacts climate change has on short and longer-term climate variability, including the impacts of extreme temperatures in the Western Pacific. Finally, Scott will discuss a co-managed project aimed at increasing community benefits from Early Warning Systems in the Solomon Islands and examine the challenges, achievements, and lessons learnt.
